A recent survey has found that the amount spent on peoples dogs continues to be affected by lifestyle trends.
Research & Markets found that although there is a number of trends which had an adverse affect on dog ownership, people continue to lavish their time, money and affection on their dogs.
Dog insurance is something that consumers are increasingly inclined to get in order to cover veterinary bills if their dog is involved in an accident or is unwell.
Perhaps surprisingly an issue when it comes to dog insurance, the research found that people from southern England are twice as likely to take their dog to the vet than people from northern England are, as well as being twice as likely to have pet insurance for their dog or cat.
Although the research has positive implications for the pet service industry, it also found that 15 per cent of people are still unaware of the advantages that having pet insurance can bring.
